The end of the semester!~

It is almost the end of the semester. Yesterday, I talked with my roommates Becky and Sandra in my home for an hour about the knowledge we have learned from EAP program. All of us agreed that what we have learned is useful in our future in university. However, there were some problems. Although we heard fluent English from other students and native speakers, it was difficult to recognize which words are academic vocabularies and which word is slang. As a result, we had to pay more attention to avoid using informal words when doing writing assignments. Also, we still met another serious problem in the process of learning grammar, which was some definition and information in the textbook were too general. For example, when we need to tell about the structures and the usages of phrases, the simple introduction caused puzzles to us because sometimes we could not distinguish which part of a complex sentence should be a phrase. Therefore, I had to point out the subjects and objects and find how they were used. While discussing the varied sentence structures in the book, I found that it was a process of recombining my knowledge about this part of grammar. After this speaking experience, I believe that all of us benefited from exchanging learning experiences. For me, I have learned how to express my opinions in English much better than before. I know I need this kind of activity to get more practice and build more confidence.
Finally, I hope everybody could pass the final exam!~~

Last Sunday

Last Sunday, I have a big dinner with my colleagues who are in the same work place. It is the end of the year, so we get together to have a dinner. There are totally more than 30 people there. I enjoyed it because the dinner was very delicious. I have drunk a little bit wine. It was the first time that I drink wine. I only had drunk beer before. During the party, we talked a lot and all of us were very happy, except Amy, a friend of mine. She was not happy because of our manager, Thomas. Thomas is very selfish and stupid. No one in A&W like him. Everyone hates him. When he needs somebody's help, he will be very kind to that person. However, when he doesn't need somebody's help, he will treat that person very bad. Briefly, he is really a bad man!!! On that day, he told others something bad of Amy, and Amy was very sad. She th0ught they are friends, and he can't believe that Thomas said she is a bad girl or something like that. How can a man be like that!!!!! Stupid Thomas!!!
Amy, don't be sad any more!! He is not worth!!! Don't be sad about him!!!
When we leave home and not rely on our family, we always meet something that will teach us methods and influence our thinking. That always is bad news; however, we can learn a lot and grow up when we go through those things.
