The end of the semester!~

It is almost the end of the semester. Yesterday, I talked with my roommates Becky and Sandra in my home for an hour about the knowledge we have learned from EAP program. All of us agreed that what we have learned is useful in our future in university. However, there were some problems. Although we heard fluent English from other students and native speakers, it was difficult to recognize which words are academic vocabularies and which word is slang. As a result, we had to pay more attention to avoid using informal words when doing writing assignments. Also, we still met another serious problem in the process of learning grammar, which was some definition and information in the textbook were too general. For example, when we need to tell about the structures and the usages of phrases, the simple introduction caused puzzles to us because sometimes we could not distinguish which part of a complex sentence should be a phrase. Therefore, I had to point out the subjects and objects and find how they were used. While discussing the varied sentence structures in the book, I found that it was a process of recombining my knowledge about this part of grammar. After this speaking experience, I believe that all of us benefited from exchanging learning experiences. For me, I have learned how to express my opinions in English much better than before. I know I need this kind of activity to get more practice and build more confidence.
Finally, I hope everybody could pass the final exam!~~

Last Sunday

Last Sunday, I have a big dinner with my colleagues who are in the same work place. It is the end of the year, so we get together to have a dinner. There are totally more than 30 people there. I enjoyed it because the dinner was very delicious. I have drunk a little bit wine. It was the first time that I drink wine. I only had drunk beer before. During the party, we talked a lot and all of us were very happy, except Amy, a friend of mine. She was not happy because of our manager, Thomas. Thomas is very selfish and stupid. No one in A&W like him. Everyone hates him. When he needs somebody's help, he will be very kind to that person. However, when he doesn't need somebody's help, he will treat that person very bad. Briefly, he is really a bad man!!! On that day, he told others something bad of Amy, and Amy was very sad. She th0ught they are friends, and he can't believe that Thomas said she is a bad girl or something like that. How can a man be like that!!!!! Stupid Thomas!!!
Amy, don't be sad any more!! He is not worth!!! Don't be sad about him!!!
When we leave home and not rely on our family, we always meet something that will teach us methods and influence our thinking. That always is bad news; however, we can learn a lot and grow up when we go through those things.

Last Friday!

Last Friday, our class went to museum to visit some pictures of Emily Carr. Most of Emily Carr's pictures are about natural views, especially the forest. There are some pictures about new forests. There are some old trees and new, small trees in the picture. That makes me feel that she wanted to represent how serious the environment problems are. People should stop cutting down the trees. Also, I like some of her pictures very much. I found Emily Carr drew sky very good. The colour and the clarity of the sky is used very well. I like that. That makes me feel the sky is very clean and as blue as the ocean.
After we visited the museum, Allen, Mark, Eric and I went to Chinook to watch movies, Hitman. Honestly, it is my first time to go to a cinema to watch movies in Canada. The last year, I haven't gone to a cinema. I am a little bit exciting. However, the movie is a little bit bored for me. It is connected with a computer game, but I am not interested in it. I even slept when we watched half of it. So sad!!! Next time, I am sure that I will choose a movie that I am interested in.
After we watched movies, we went to Korean Village to have a dinner. The dinner is very delious and I like it very much. We were all full except Eric. He always eats a lot. I do not know what I should say to him, but I was so happy on that day.

Birthday!

Today is my birthday.~~I am so happy although I had to work today. First, I recieved so many wishes from my friends and my family. My two roommates bought some gifts for me. That is about my favorite cartoon, Inyasha!!! HAHA~~~Also, I got a gift card from my work place~HOHO~~Then, I am surprised that I recieved a cake from Benson, a colleague in A&W. When I was closing the door of my workplace, he disappeared. After a while, he took a cake back and gave it to me with wishes, "Happy Birthday!" I was very surprised and happy.
Then, I went to Korean Village to eat dinner with my friends, but I did not eat too much there because I have already eat something in my work place. I am regret. I shouldn't eat anything in my work place. I need to leave some space in my stomach, so I can eat some more when I in the Korean restaurant.
After I arrived home, I found that my two roommates bought a birthday cake for me!~~That's my favorite fruit cake! I am really happy. Then, I phoned back home. My parents were all waiting for my call, and they said "Happy birthday" to me! I think I am really happy at that time.~
I am very happy to recieved the wishes from my parents and friends. I know they all care about me. I wish that they can all be happy as me!!!

Mum~Dad~I am ok here~I am happy here. So, do not worry about me!~I can take care of myself. I promise I will finish my degree as soon as possible, and then come back home to see you~~

tomorrow!~

Today, I went to IKEA with Mark. I bought asmall table to put my printer on, a quit cover, a light and a rug. IKEA is very far away from our apartment building. I couldn't understand why people do not build it near downtown or somewhere is convenient to arrive. If IKEA would have been built near downtown, I would not get back home with so much staffs on a long way. That's really tired!!! However, I still need to thank for Mark. He helps me a lot to carry those things. I know those things are very heavy and not easy to carry. Thank you very much! Mark! You are really kind!~
It is my birthday tommorrow. It is the second birthday after I have been in Canada. The worst thing is that I have to go to work tommorrow!!! So sad!!!!! However, it doesn't matter because my good friends all stay with me. I am very glad that I can recieve presents. Actually, the reason that I am happy is not that I recieved the presents. I am happy that they began to prepare presents several weeks ago. From this, I know that they are all care about me. Thanks for all of them! My friends!!!Althoug I cannot celebrate my birthday with my parents, I am not sad because I have friends here. And I know my parents are always stay with me, in my heart!~
Do not worry about me!Mum and Dad! I am happy here. I will take care of myself. Don't worry about me!~~You should take care of yourselves! My parents.

Holiday

On Monday, I went to a bar again with my friends to eat chicken wings. It was so cheap on that day, and the chicken wings were really delicous. As a result, there were many people were waiting for seats. We were waiting for half an hour, but it is worth to waiting. Our 7 people ate almost 150 wings. In the bar, we met many other friends there. I found many friends of mine always go there because of chicken wings. Even though my parents forbid me to go to a bar, I think it is fine for me. They forbid me because they are afraid that I may learn something bad there. However, I think it is OK for me now because I am an adult now. I know what I should do and what I cannot do. Even though I am not very mature, I know how to protect myself and distinguish the bad and good things.
After we ate the chicken wings, four of us went to KTV to sing songs. That is really interesting. We sang a lot of songs and chatted with each other. Finally, only our 2 girls were singing the songs, and the boys were staying there to listen. We didn't let the boys choose the song until we finished ours. After we finished our songs, we still sang the songs that the boys chose. They felt so sad because they only listened to us and cannot sing anything. ^^ However, we were still so exciting that we were back home until 2 a.m.
I hope we can get more holiday like that!!! No much homework, just have fun!!!^^

Holloween!

Yesterday is Holloween. We had a tiny party in our listening and speaking class. Our teacher, Sandi, dressed up a cute pumpkin custume. That's very cute! She brought a lot of candy and some custumes to class. We sat together and talking about some scary stories. That is scared and very funny. Matheus wore a white false hair. That's so interesting. He looks like a women with the false hair. We also took a picture for him. It is same as Lisbeth, but she still looks like a lady. ^^ Just a joke! Lisbeth is very kind, she brought us a lot of candy and gave us as trick or treating. They are so delicious.
I have not gone to a Holloween party before. It is really interesting and funny.
After the party, I have to go to work. That is too tired, but it is better than Ella. She worked at a shopping mall last night. There were so many customers, and many kids came to get candy. She told me that the sale yesterday arrived in a peak of those months. Could you believe that? I thought people may be at home to have dinner with family on holiday, but they all came out to have fun, especially children. However, I think it must be very funny for kids because they can get candy or chocolates from others. But, poor Ella! She must be very tired last night!~~ I wish she can get a good rest last night.
